Culture Change
Over a period of six years, Al consulted
with the two successive General Managers
of a small commercial operation embedded
in the aerospace and defense group of
a Fortune 500 technology company. The
challenge was to create an organization
and culture that would thrive in a commercial
market by virtue of greater speed and
quality of decision-making, as well as
more involvement, innovation and customer
focus on the part of all members.
Al guided the leadership in establishing
new vision and supporting cultural norms
and values through designing and implementing
a collateral structure – forming
new groupings of people who worked together
in the new way, in both designing the
change process and accomplishing the
work and achieving the business goals
of the operation.
The commercial operation was able to
leverage its people and technology competencies
over that period to achieve divisional
status and increase its revenues threefold,
as well as become a center of excellence
for culture and organizational change
throughout the corporation for years
to follow.
